Prom Dress

Monday, August 11th, 2008

If you’ve never been a poor daughter in a rich school, you do not know the nightmare of having a prom. This is the first night of the year when everyone is dressed in the most elegant and expensive clothes that they can find. Even wearing affordable prom dresses marks you as an outcast.

My family was poor. We never had time to buy new clothes, and I learned to make my own. I sewed my own skirts, shirts, jackets and dresses. I had a lot of air and admiring compliments on my clothes, because it seemed so unique and original. Unfortunately, the ball was a time when I could not go out with it. People judge me based on how much money I spent on my dress. I needed to find an affordable dress ball, but looked good. I need something that looked like I spent a lot of money on him.

I was in school where everyone wore Vera Wang ball gowns and evening dresses. I had no idea how to sew something like that. Affordable prom dresses, however, necessarily need to have a different look. They must be precisely targeted and transparent. I needed to find a sale with affordable prom dresses soon, or I would be out of luck.

Fortunately, the situation improved. I talked to my great-aunt that I was looking for affordable ball gowns, and she showed me something and she had worn in school before. It is not exactly a plus size ball gown, but it was a little too big for me. However, it was absolutely beautiful. She even allowed me to tailor make it for me precisely. All the girls at school loved the old ball gown that I wore. They did not even think that I have received it for free! I was just lucky that my aunt came to help me. I can not find affordable ball gowns that looked good. Without her help, I do not know what I would have done.

Ball Gowns

Although you will not see ball gowns in all the clothing store where you shop, you may see in some of the upscale stores. I never needed one hour, and I think it’s just a shame. Although I do not wear dresses so there is just something on a ball gown that brings me back to my childhood when it was alright to wear what you wanted as long as you feel beautiful. There are not many balls these days, and even an event as a regular feature where prom dresses are more than anything else.

I do not know why I like ball gowns, but I just do. There is something wonderful about putting on a dress that is designed to dazzle and quite honestly, you look like you are floating in the room. These ball gowns was a fact of life over a hundred years, and women wore much more often than anything else, they have their own that varies depending on the class. However, women and rich people have many. Some they wore once and then discarded.

My love affair with the ball gowns started when I read Cinderella. I loved the dress I saw in the book that my mother read to me, and I thought that maybe it should have been the most beautiful dress I had ever laid eyes on. I asked my mother if I could one day wear a ball gown.Unfortunately I never got to wear a dress like the one I saw in the book, but my wedding dress was very close. In fact, thinking back, maybe that’s the reason why I chose that style of my wedding gown, although I did not know at the time.

If you have a daughter who was like me dreaming of ball gowns, go ahead and get her some dress costumes that look like dresses that she may have seen in her fairy tale book. Let them know that it does not need Prince Charming to come looking for it to wear. She may wear ball gowns she likes any time. Allow her to guide her imagination, and only to teach her to love herself and be an independent spirit. She may thank you for that later in life.
